Indonesia Blue Economy Roadmap 2nd Edition

Indonesia is an archipelagic country with the sixth largest exclusive economic zone in the world. Its marine economy currently generates significant income and employment. Indonesian waters provide business prospects in several fields, including industry, tourism, logistics, and marine living and non-living resources. The marine economy in Indonesia currently includes traditional sectors, with capture fisheries, aquaculture, and fish processing contributing 83 percent of the total value generated from the marine economy. However, the growth of Indonesia's marine economy still faces challenges related to the health of marine ecosystems, due to unsustainable fishing methods and tourism activities, pollution, and the impacts of climate change. Over the past three years, the coronavirus pandemic has also undermined Indonesia's efforts to achieve sustainable development, especially the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 14 to protect and sustainably use marine resources.

Ministry of National Development Planning.Bappenas works with the support of the United Nations Resident Coordinator (UNRC), United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), International Labour Organization (ILO), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), ASEAN Regional Integration Support from the European Union (ARISE+) Indonesia Trade Support Facility, Swedish Agency for Marine and Water Management (SwAM), and EcoNusa Foundation to prepare the Indonesian Blue Economy Roadmap. Data analysis and collection of primary and secondary data information were carried out, as well as holding several series of FGDs. Through existing problems, the Roadmap is a draft solution in building the Indonesian Blue Economy.
Manfaat Peta Jalan Ekonomi Biru Indonesia 2023-2045 disusun dengan tujuan untuk mengkonsolidasikan kebijakan, program, dan kegiatan yang didukung oleh semua pemangku kepentingan dan memberikan panduan untuk mewujudkan ekonomi laut yang berkelanjutan. Peta Jalan ini juga menjabarkan arahan Visi Indonesia 2045 dan instrumen kebijakan yang relevan yang memberikan landasan bagi pelaksanaannya, terutama untuk mewujudkan Indonesia sebagai negara kepulauan yang berdaulat, maju, dan tangguh. Peta Jalan ini mendefinisikan isu-isu dan proyeksi sasaran dan sektor-sektor prioritas dalam pembangunan Ekonomi yang didukung oleh kebijakan yang berwawasan ke depan dengan kolaborasi yang kuat di antara para pemangku kepentingan. Hasilnya diharapkan dapat menopang pertumbuhan ekonomi yang tinggi berdasarkan sumber daya laut yang dikelola dengan baik, dan memungkinkan Indonesia menjadi negara maju.
